On April 24, 2021, the Upper Moreland Police participated in the April Drug Take Back Day. The location of the event took place at the Giant Food Stores in Willow Grove. Pictured above is Clerk Tina McGuckin and K-9 Officer Snyder and K-9 Maximus. This event was held to allow residents to properly discard unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications to help make their homes and the environment safer.
In total, throughout Montgomery County, there were 7,252.1 pounds of unused medications turned in. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, “Since the program began in 2010, more than 92,000 pounds of unwanted, unneeded and expired prescription and over-the counter medications have been collected and safely destroyed.”
The Upper Moreland PBA would like to thank anyone who chose to voluntarily turn in those medications. Also, as a reminder, the Upper Moreland Police Department accepts unwanted medications at any time. You can visit the front lobby of the Upper Moreland Police Department and deposit those medications into the provided deposit box. Thank you!
